Launched in 2008, One Book, One Community is a community reading program created to inspire civic dialogue by inviting Kitsap residents to read a book and connect through a shared reading and learning experience.

With each program, the Library and partnering organizations offer various activities, events and resources to engage the Kitsap community in impactful discussions, increasing awareness and creating space to better understand and connect with each other. Children and teens are also invited to participate in the conversation through events and age-appropriate books selected to introduce the annual themes. 

One Book, One Community is made possible largely through the financial support of Kitsap Regional Library Foundation.

Summer Learning supports equal opportunity education through reading and learning during summer break for school-age children and teens. For adults, Summer Learning provides an engaging platform to participate in a self-selected learning activity while expanding reading interests.  

Summer Learning is funded in part by generous donations from Kitsap Regional Library Foundation and our Friends of the Library groups.
